Help DJ Dusse Get Back to Doing What She Loves
Back in 2019 during COVID, I stopped working due to deteriorating health. When restrictions lifted and others returned to work, I couldn't. My health kept getting worse.
On April 27, 2023, I ended up in the ER unable to drink water or keep food down. Doctors found a 10 lb teratoma in my abdomen. I had major open surgery to remove it along with my right ovary. Pathology later revealed it was Stage 3 Struma Ovarii, a rare thyroid tissue carcinoma from a mature ovarian teratoma.
For the next three years, I was in and out of doctors’ offices. PET scans every 3 to 6 months, concerning activity in my lymph nodes, and a liver biopsy. I've been fighting to get back to a place where I can work again, but my body kept failing me.
As of October 2025, I am officially in remission. But I am still far from 100% and not well enough for full-time or part-time work. I also receive no disability income. On top of this, I’m managing other health issues like diabetes and PCOS that have gotten out of control.
I’ve been supporting myself by DJing online in Second Life since 2018. I’m also starting to stream games like COD and Fortnite, with plans to expand into real life gigs. DJing brings in a little income for my daily needs and small bills, but more than that, it kept me going. It distracted me from the fear of cancer and gave me a reason to fight. Music has always been my passion.
Right now I’m struggling to keep up with my bookings for April, May, and June because my desktop PC completely broke down. I’m stuck using a 10 year old laptop that crashes during my sets. I can’t afford to cancel or lose these gigs.
My old PC had an NVIDIA 3060 with low specs. It was already outdated and failing me for the last three years. New PCs and updated DJ equipment are extremely expensive and out of reach for me right now.
With your help, I hope to get a new PC and the gear I need to DJ reliably again without crashes or issues.
Every dollar truly counts and I am so appreciative. I can’t wait to get back to DJing and getting the party jumping again, the right way.
With love and care,
DJ Dusse
