Update: The Coast Guard was able to come through and send a training flight for dad. He has landed safely In kodiak. As of now (Wednesday, 3:15pm) loved ones are getting home to tuck him in and make him comfortable. At this point the funds that you all have so generously donated will be used to assist us with services and other expenses as needed. I have no way to express me gratitude other than, Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We are overwhelmed with your generosity and will breathe easier because of it.

As you may know by now, my father has been battling cancer for a year. The doctors have done all they can and predict he does not have much time left. We've pleaded to the Coast Guard to use their resources to help an honored retiree and local hero. At first it was confirmed and assured to happen. Suddenly it was decided that they don't want to assume the responsibility before even consulting his doctors. This GoFundMe will help reimburse for the $10,000 life flight (that insurance won't cover), any additional funds raised will go towards other expenses and services once we have gotten Daryl safely home.
