Let's get Dani back on her feet!

Just over a year ago, my friend Dani endured something NOBODY should ever have to experience.
A complete stranger broke into her D.C. apartment and attacked her. This large man attempted to rape her and choke her, and he could have killed her. She used all her wits and strength to fight him off and survive. She later learned he was out of his mind on the drug PCP.
Dani was badly traumatized by the attack. As anyone familiar with crime knows, the impact continues in many ways, and is relived as court dates are set and postponed; in this case, the end result is not yet known. The trial is set for February 2. The attacker had a long criminal record and needs to be removed from being a threat to society, but that does not happen quickly.
Following the attack, Dani developed a seizure disorder. During a seizure she broke her foot. She lost her job in the food and beverage service industry, and fell behind on her rent.
There is a lot of light at the end of this tunnel! Dani is a strong person and a survivor. She helped raise her younger siblings and knows how to not only fend for herself but look out for others. She's got the spirit of a warrior and the heart of a champion. She is healing physically, and should be able to work very soon (job leads are appreciated!) to literally and figuratively get back on her feet.
What Dani hasn't got, right now, is some much needed financial security. She owes $5,000 in rent and is threatened with eviction.
Getting evicted would mean losing her safe space, the place she moved to to get away from where she was attacked; and it would set back the progress she has made and is making emotionally as a survivor.
Not many of us have $5,000 lying around. But if enough of us pitch in what we can, surely among us, we can raise what she needs to avoid eviction until her own earnings buoy her back up.
