Hello, Dexter is a four year old Golden Retriever who along with myself (his dance partner and trainer Claire Rasell) have been selected to represent Team GB at the European Open Dog Dance Championships (EOC) in Sweden in September 2026. This is a major achievement that we are both extremely proud of and honoured to take part in.

Whilst this is an honour to take part, we have to self-fund the trip which includes travel expenses, accommodation plus the necessary certification for Dexter. So , this is why I'm reaching out in the hope that you'll become part of my journey.

Dexter was an only child who was rejected by his mother at two weeks and hand-raising him created an incredibly strong bond between us.  To help with his development, I quickly enrolled him in some local trick training classes with Lucy Heath and The Trickstars and it quickly became apparent that he had natural flair and was a charismatic showman in the ring. This was something new for us both and we have been learning together.

Over the past four years we have worked hard on learning new moves and developing routines as well as acclimatising Dexter into the show ring environment. We have had set backs along the way that we have had to over come for Dexter to feel as confident as he does now.

We have taken part in demonstrations for heelwork to music at shows such as All About Dogs, Dogfest,and more locally at Heckington Show as part of Lucy Heath and The Trickstars demonstrations as well as being asked to demonstrate at Crufts for the past three years. Alongside this we have climbed the ranks within the competition circuit by taking part in competitions all over the country. We have now got to the top in both heelwork and freestyle disciplines and qualified for the GB Squad.

Dog dancing is gaining in popularity and public awareness mainly thanks to world class performances on Britain's Got Talent and at Crufts. Great Britain are at the fore front of this growing sport after winning Gold at the World Championships this year in Italy.
