Chris needs life changing treatment
Donation protected
We are looking to raise as much as we can to cover my brother Chris’ treatment costs, so he can have the Stem Cell Therapy needed to give him back a normal life, unrestricted by injury and constant pain.
In March 2017, whilst acting as a designated driver for his Theta Chi fraternity chapter, Chris’ car was hit from behind at 50mph while stopped at a red light by an intoxicated, underinsured driver who was texting at the wheel. The force of the impact was sent down the driver’s side of the vehicle, which caused a herniation of his L4/L5, discs, his L5/S1 discs in addition to injuries in his neck caused by whiplash.
At the time of the crash, Chris, then 21, was a college student attending the University of North Florida (UNF). He was deeply involved not only in his studies but in a range of social activities and sports. Particularly, his membership in the Theta Chi Fraternity, his love of playing division 1 rugby for UNF, and his lifelong passion for golf.
It is not an understatement to say that the crash has ruined his life for the last three and a half years. He has suffered daily with immense chronic pain in his back, disc degeneration, muscle spasms, as well as sciatica down both his legs and into his feet as a result of the damage to his spine. Chris was completely unable to do most physical activity especially walking and exercising, which put an immediate and premature stop to Chris’ normal life. He was initially prescribed Oxycodone which was later changed to Hydrocodone less than 2 months later, a drug that is not only very addictive, but carried with it side-effects that meant Chris was forced to end his college education and his participation in all sports and social activities.
Equally upsetting and concerning is the severe impact the injuries have had not only physical health, but on his mental health as well.
Despite months/years of physical and inversion therapy, cortisone shots, prescription painkillers, CBD and stretching; the pain has not improved. One course of action is for Chris to undergo a microdiscectomy on two of his discs. However invasive back surgery might only partially treat the symptoms and carries a tremendous risk of permanent damage to his back that would compromise the ability for his life to return to normal.
After months of consultation, Chris has the opportunity to receive treatment at BioXcellerator, a world leading stem cell therapy clinic based in Colombia, as early as March 2021. The procedure would involve direct stem cell injections into facet joints and the nucleus of the discs, a series of stem cell IV drips and a number of other supportive therapies that will not only provide almost immediate relief of his sciatica pain, but will repair the bone, tissue and nerve damage caused by the accident. The BioXcellerator clinic has achieved exceptional results treating both professional athletes and individuals with the same injuries.
We humbly ask you to help Chris achieve the happy, pain-free and healthy life that he deserves and greatly appreciate any assistance you are able to provide.
Thank you!
