Get Cecilia Back on the Road to Equity

Hi friends and family,

Cecilia is the kind of person who is always giving. She donates her time to mentor young professionals, supports colleagues through hard seasons, and pours her energy into helping organizations build equity and belonging. For over 20 years, she’s been working for equity and she’s still at it, even as the climate for DEI work has grown increasingly difficult.

On Monday night, Cecilia was at a social justice meeting. When she walked outside, to head home, she discovered her car had been stolen. Her plan was to make do without one for a year, saving until she could afford a down payment. That’s just who she is: determined, resourceful, and unwilling to burden others.

But we know Cecilia. We know she would never ask for help, and we also know how much she is still needed. The reality is that without a car, it’s nearly impossible for her to keep traveling to the organizations and communities who are committed to this work and need her expertise in this political climate.

So we’re asking on her behalf. We’re raising funds to help towards gifting her a new car. Giving here isn’t about charity, it’s about ensuring that someone who has given so much to others can keep going. It’s about making sure Cecilia can continue her work at a time when her leadership matters most.
