GET CAROLYN BACK TO THE BEACH!

Hi, I'm Gabby and I'm the (deeply blessed) daughter-in-law of Carolyn Luckenbach. About 2 years ago, my bright, kind, beyond generous, and beach enthusiast (putting it lightly) MIL was diagnosed with Parkinson's. This has not only rocked her world, but the worlds of everyone around her.

The once fiercely independent and active woman who spent multiple decades of her life walking miles down various beaches, now has become highly dependent on others (primarily her god-sent of a husband, Len) to do the smallest of tasks.

This disease has been highly progressive, making it difficult to walk and even talk. It has taken her forever love (the beach) out of her life because it's not safe for her to navigate the sandy terrain.

As a beach lover myself, I couldn't imagine it being stripped away from me. Which is why I've made it my mission to get her back there.

This disease has taken away her ability to do things that you and I take for granted each and every day. I know we can't give her back the ability to easily sit down in a chair, walk down steps, or open a door, but with your help, we can give her back something that has always brought her SO much joy.

No, she won't be able to walk the beach for miles like she used to, but with a beach wheelchair, she will be able to put her toes in the sand again and smell the salty air-- which, if you've ever been to the beach, you know that in itself can be healing to the soul.
