On Friday August 18th, Carl Overly—a valued member of the St. Louis Theater community—tore tendons in both of his legs, leaving him unable to walk. He takes his work seriously and always gives it his all. This can be tough on a body. He took the role of FALLstaff too literally.
To recover he will need surgery, and need to undergo weeks of rehabilitation.
UPDATE: Carl needs surgery on BOTH knees. And will receive that care Wednesday, August 30th.
Carl has brought joy to so many in St Louis through his work as an actor and a director and an involved community member, we want to help get him back to where he belongs, on stage, doing what he does best: bringing joy to St Louis.
To recover, he will need to put the stage on hold, but
as an actor, Carl’s livelihood depends on the stage. The last thing one should have to worry about while healing is rent, groceries, and bills.
In order to focus on his recovery, we, his friends and family, are asking for your help. Please consider donating to this fundraiser. Proceeds will go to helping cover the cost of rent, utilities, and bills that being unable to earn a living, Carl will be unable to pay. Please help us help our beloved friend and St Louis community member heal without the worry of losing his home or meeting his basic necessities.
