This is a love story about a girl and a dog..
A love story between Buzz Lightyear, a 5 year old Alaskan Husky, and his very favourite human, Stefanie Meier.
Buzz is a sled dog working in the tourist industry in the mountains of Canada, with Kingmik Dog Sled Tours. Buzz loves being a sled dog but he has a severe case of Stranger Danger and so working in tourism, where he has to meet new people every day, is clearly not his calling. His exceptionally shy personality and minor health issues make him a very hard dog to re-home
We want to put him in a place where he is most happy and that is with Stephanie, who was his musher, his caretaker and the biscuit of his eye. From the moment they met they were inseparable. He immediately bonded with her and his confidence grew in leaps and bounds during the two years he spent by her side. A whole new goofy personality emerged as he danced around Stef every day. Clearly he was smitten.
But Stef is a New Zealander and when her visa expired she had to return home.
Buzz continued on in tourism but he is not relaxed and not happy. It's just too "peopley" for him. . So we want to reunite Buzz and his Stef,
But the process of sending a dog to New Zealand is expensive. Between multiple vet bills and foreign vaccinations, travel and a lengthy quarantine, the cost of getting a dog to New Zealand is $6000.00.
We are hoping to raise these funds to reunite Buzz and Stef.
