Meet Lonny and Bubba, a dream team if ever there was one. Bubba needs his second TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery, an invasive procedure that completely restructures the knee after injury to the ligament. Most dogs who need one knee repaired will eventually need the second knee repaired, and that time has come for Bubba. Let’s come together in support of Lonny so that Lonny can tend to Bubba. The estimated cost for the surgery is $5,885. This does not include the ongoing costs of rehabilitation that Bubba will need post surgery. Bubba is an otherwise healthy and happy dog and a great candidate for surgery. Unfortunately Bubba is not eligible for pet insurance, as the first knee surgery disqualified him from future coverage. Lonny works hard and cares harder, and every donation helps to lighten their load.

In April of 2024 Lonny and Bubba were walking in the woods when sweet Bubba blew out his first knee. In a harrowing feat of love and grit, Lonny carried beloved Bubba miles through the woods to safety, but that is a story for another day. The surgery Bubba required was costly, and combined with the expenses of aftercare, cost Lonny over $8,000. Over the six months it took our sweet Bubba to recover, Lonny cared tenderly for him, doing everything in their power to support Bubba’s healing and well being, literally supporting his body weight for him every time he needed to go out or move about the house. After six months, Bubba made a full recovery. The surgery was a success, Bubba’s knee was mended and he was back where he belongs: in the woods with Lonny. Let’s keep him coming back!
