Here is Brookie’s story:

We found Brookie on the side of the road on Central and DeWolf in Fowler, California, presumably dumped. After several days of seeing her there, we began feeding her and bringing her water. There was a team of us that fed her every day for 6 weeks. And she NEVER left her spot on the side of the road. We made animal control aware, however, it took them over six weeks to get there.

Once animal control came, I requested they contact me in case of euthanasia. Our shelters are overcrowded and euthanasia is done at a high rate, and they called us shortly after stating they would euthanize if I could not pick her up.

We didn’t have a plan in place, but we knew she deserved a second chance at life, and so we adopted her out and rescued her. She was super timid and never let us approach her, and now she is ALL zoomies and butt wiggles. It’s been amazing to see. We posted about her and found a home for her in Montana, on a farm, where she’ll have lots of space and a lot of love.

We also found a volunteer to drive her there from Fresno, and we want to cover the fuel cost at minimum. We estimated approximately $500 there and back.

Any amount helps- we don’t like asking for money, but we know that Brookie deserves this!
