Get Brian back to the GoldRanch for Homefield Advantage!
If you are reading this GoFundMe campaign, you’ve already been the recipient of one of those huge hugs, ear to ear smiles, deep laughs, and endless outpouring of love that exemplifies the one and only Brian Goldrich.
Before it was cool for dudes to say to other dudes “I love you,” Brian was already doing it.
Having known Brian since we were kids growing up in the same building, this outpouring of love began while he kicked my ass in whatever sport we played on the block. As we turned into grown men, Brian’s circle of family and friends grew exponentially, and he always brought those circles together, most recently at the famous GoldRanch out in Blairstown, New Jersey, where Brian is the central mensch, welcoming all with that huge hug as you pull into the driveway.
All of us who know Brian, Barbara, Gemma, and all the cats and chickens are very privileged to be part of the circle of love that is The GoldRanch.
We are also privy to all of Brian’s recent health struggles resulting from his ongoing fight with prostate cancer. The details are enormous and a look into Barbara’s Facebook posts would earn her an honorary degree from any medical school and a Pulitzer for journalism (thank you for keeping us up to date, Babs). However, in their spirit of ‘keeping it real,’ the setbacks to Brian’s fight have affected his strength and ability to walk, which he is working extremely hard to regain.
Just recently, the Goldrich family decided that the best place for Brian to rehab and win this fight is at home, at the GoldRanch, with his family (and Babs’s incredible homecooked meals) by his side. After getting the ok from his care team at Memorial Sloan Kettering, it became a no-brainer that it’s time to get back to the Ranch!
Here is where the conjoining circles of love come in. The Goldriches are going to need our help to modify their home, bring in top-of-the-line PT care, have his care team from MSK come in to do regular infusions, purchase adaptive devices, and be able to do all of this without having to worry about the cost. It is extremely hard to put a number on this, so while we have set a humble initial goal of $25,000, we think the costs may be in excess of $50K to get him up and walking in the long run, so we will likely move the target as we meet each milestone.
Brian, Barbara, and Gemma have been beacons of resistance and hope throughout this process, and now we all have a chance to really join the team as we secure home-field advantage in a fight that we will win.
While donations of all sizes are welcome, we ask primarily that you continue to pray, meditate, and manifest good juju for Brian.
We thank you for your help and for being a huge part of The GoldRanch Team.
