Branwen has been sailing for the past 7 years on the Britannia Yacht Club’s Opti Race team in Ottawa, Ontario. Branwen has been training hard and spending as much time as possible in her boat, becoming the best sailor she can be. She has been racing at events around Ontario and Quebec, gaining experience, enjoying being on the water and being with her team. She has always had one long-term goal: to represent Canada at an International Event.

In the fall of 2021, Branwen sailed in the Canadian qualifiers in Toronto and placed in the top 10 females. Because of this, she was invited by the Canadian Optimist Dinghy Association (CODA) to join Team Canada to represent the country at the International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA) South American Championships, which take place from October 3rd to 15th, 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

As exciting as this sport is, it’s equally expensive. She would be very grateful to anyone who could help support her dream to come true in October. All funds raised on this platform will go directly towards travel costs and registration fees for the South American Championship.
