Get Bonnie Better 2.0

This is annoying, but after Fundly.com/Stripe blew our entire first fundraiser, I have had to start with a more reputable company. Stripe locked our account because some strangers were "card testing" and making $1 donations to see if card #'s worked. After two weeks with no progress with their TERRIBLE tech support, they refunded over $13,000 that we had raised by your good graces. This has put us back to zero and created a ton of confusion for everyone who inexplicably got their money back. So, If you still have extra and want to support us, we'd greatly appreciate it. Full disclosure, we are in better shape than we initially thought thanks to the Spot Accident Insurance Bonnie had, they say they are going to cover much of the expenses, however, they have not paid a single bill yet, and Bonnie's accident was now 2.5 months ago. So, that could be just another online scam for all we know. Much is still up in the air, and your donation will help put us at ease and make this recovery much less stressful and successful.

From our original Fundraiser: On the morning of July 23rd Bonnie was out enjoying a mountain bike ride with some friends and suffered a bike crash. This accident required her to be taken by ambulance to a local hospital then later transferred to a hospital in buffalo where she had to stay for 4 days before being released. After the initial set of X-rays and CT scans the doctor came into the room and said “well, I don’t have any good news for you” and our hearts sank… The final tally was a long list of fairly severe non-life threatening injuries. This resulted in countless scans and x-rays, multiple procedures and a surgery to get her able to come home and begin the healing process.

Bonnie struck out on her own and started her business Better with Bonnie a year and a half ago. She is a licensed Physical Therapist and a Functional Nutrition Counselor. While this has been a positive life change it has made it impossible to afford health insurance. That means these hefty hospital bills are going to fall on us in full. We do not yet know the full amount of debt we will be facing to get her back in one piece. To add additional financial stress to a painful situation she was out of work for a week and will likely be working in a limited capacity.

Bonnie is an energetic, disciplined and driven individual. She will be facing this healing process the same way she faces everything in her life, full on. I believe she will come back stronger than before and be ready to again climb the steps of local race podiums and maybe even another cyclocross nationals… Who knows.

For now we are taking it one day at a time. Bonnie has spent her life helping others heal, be stronger, healthier and happier. Now she needs to get herself better. Your help will ease the burden and make this recovery a little less stressful.
