Hello,
My name is Ben Kinsinger. I am a Chicago musician and have been presented with an exciting invitation to perform at ISEA 2023 in Paris. I'm raising money to fund my travels to this unique symposium celebrating the intersection of Art and Science.
In my career in Chicago’s vibrant music scene, I have been honored to work as the music director at the Chicago Magic Lounge, IO Theater, and the Annoyance Theater (all ongoing). I also perform in and compose for numerous local bands, including The Dearlys, Groppler Zorn, and Lawrence Tome, my original folk music act, which has drawn large Chicago audiences, including several performances on the Chicago River.
This (somewhat last minute) invitation is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform for a large and distinguished international audience. ISEA is a large symposium celebrating the intersection of Art and Science. I will be musically accompanying Baudouin Saintyves' Shapes of Emergence: An immersive light projection act performed live with custom robotic devices. While in France, I will also be performing independently as Lawrence Tome.
I'm seeking $2000 to fund my travels and accommodations. My career has been devoted to sharing the gift of music and bringing together musicians, improvisers, magicians, and other creatives to share our art with the world. I'm so honored to have been invited to this symposium and would be deeply grateful for your support in pursuing this next leg of my creative journey.
