Get B'Elanna the Feline ESA Cancer Care

B'Elanna Torbico Slavik-Zinzani was adopted from a rescuer seven years ago and immediately bonded closely with her Meowmy Amaranthe, who is Autistic with multiple mental illnesses and was in desperate need of an emotional support animal (ESA). B'Elanna has been with her Meowmy through graduate school and an escape from a domestic abuse situation. She is now lucky enough to have two Meowmies (Meowmy Amaranthe married the love of her life two years ago). B'Elanna adores both of her Meowmies.

B'Elanna was recently diagnosed with metastatic salivary gland adenocarcinoma with pulmonary metastases (breast cancer that has spread to her lungs). She needs medication to slow the progress of the cancer and to be re-checked by the oncologist (X-rays, urinalysis, and blood work) every month.

Q: Do you have pet insurance?

A: Yes. However, B'Elanna's pet insurance won't make a decision regarding whether or not they'll cover her cancer care until 12/21/2022.

Q: Why can't you pay for this yourself?

A: B'Elanna's Meowmies both work, but both of them are also Disabled and have many medical costs themselves. Meowmy Amaranthe, the family's primary earner, recently underwent surgery to repair a paraesophageal hernia and almost died. Meowmy Amaranthe also recently filed for bankruptcy.

Q: Why can't you use Care Credit?

A: At the end of the day, Meowmy Amaranthe is responsible for the vet bill, and she just declared bankruptcy. As such, she does not qualify for Care Credit.

Q: Where did you get the amount to be fundraised?

A: B'Elanna's monthly oncology checkups cost $500 without chest X-ray and $900 with chest X-ray. Her medication costs approximately $120/month. She also needs an antitussive. And there are GFM fees to account for. The amount required will change monthly.

Q: I can't spare anything. How else can I help?
