I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this.

I believe we all have the power to make a difference in someone's life, and that when possible, we as humans embrace the opportunity.

This past week, my best friend's father, Bob Stoeger, received a startling diagnosis of advanced, Stage III Colon Cancer. Further tests revealed a large tumor and lymph node invasion. With the support of his family and friends, Bob intends to fight this head on. Doing that will mean immediate radiation and chemo. Surgery is necessary but not a consideration until radiation and chemo are administered in an attempt to shrink the tumor.

Bob is employed full time at the Cherry County Hospital as long as his health allows. However, treatment will mean time off of work, 1 month of daily trips to North Platte for radiation, and continued trips to the Med Ctr in Omaha.

Bob does have health insurance but the chemo regimen needed to attack this type of tumor is extremely expensive and will not be fully covered. Time is of the essence. Fuel prices for daily trips to North Platte for radiation and monthly overnight trips to Omaha will be costly.

Bob spent much of his younger years giving to his community. He was a legion baseball coach and coached multiple youth activities. Many memories of my childhood were fishing trips with my friend Lucas and his dad Bob.

If you feel so inclined to give, all funds donated will be used for treatment and expenses incurred from work absence, fuel, necessary lodging for medical appts, and the like. If a monetary donation is not possible, I know that thoughts and prayers would be so appreciated.
