1/26/2015 : Asha's parents received the mortal remains at Ahmedabad airport. Funeral was conducted as per her family traditions and honor. Thank you all for making the wishes of her ailing parents a reality. MANCA will soon publish the final accounts to ensure proper accountability and transparency.
1/22/2015 : Mortal remains of Asha will be shipped tomorrow Jan 23, 2015 from San Francisco via Dubai to Ahemedabad. It's expected to be received by Kandandy Nithayandan on January 26th, 2015
1/14/2015 : To pay respect and honor the life of Ahsa, a viewing service is arranged from 7 pm to 7:30 PM on Thursday 1/15/2015 at the Chapel of Flowers facility.
1/13/2015 : This afternoon, Chapel of Flowers received the mortal remains of Asha from Monterey County Sheriff's Morgue. Chapel of Flowers is well experienced in shipping mortal remains to India. Will provide further updates as available.

What happened?
Asha Nithyanandan passed away on January 5, 2015 after meeting with an accident on Highway 101 near Laurel Exit(in Salinas). She is survived by her father, mother, and brother(Anil) who reside in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Her family is originally from Pathanamthitta, Kerala.
Situation
Her dead body is in the Monterey County Sheriff's Morgue. It needs to be sent to her Parent's and brother living in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. She has been living with a friend in Salinas after being separated from husband 10 months ago. Her husband, husband's family, and friend who she is living with is unable to provide financial assistance for funeral. Her family in India is also of limited means to support this cost.

MANCA(Malayalee Association of North California), SARGAM(Sacramento Regional Association of Malayalees) along with her friends are trying to arrange funds to transfer her dead body to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India from Salinas, California, US. It will cost around $10,000 for embalming the body, completing paperwork, transporting via airlines and road for the initial and last mile. Each and every penny collected will go for transport of the body. Any remaining funds will be given to the Asha's parents for arranging funeral services.
