This is Ambrose.
Ambrose is an incredible man, a refugee, a survivor, a citizen. And now a therapist.
Since arriving here as a refugee in 2002 Ambrose has had to completely restart his life while simultaneously being a father and provider for his family and caseworker assisting other refugee survivors of torture. He was an attorney back home in Africa but his education and certification are not accepted here.
Ambrose works for Utah Health and Human Rights alongside me (Xander Gordon), serving refugees who have survived horrible human rights abuses. After many years of providing incredible case management support for countless other refugees he pursued a Master of Social Work to be a therapist.
Now, ready to begin practice, Ambrose has had an old tooth implant fail. Most people know dental insurance in the U.S. is practically non-existent, and while Ambrose is insured the expense is still nearly $4000.
His life and work has been to help others - primarily by communicating face to face - and we want to help him continue in this incredible work.
I hope you can come together to help him continue to help others by pitching in for his replacement dental work.
Recently graduating from the U of U while working full time and providing for his family Ambrose could use some support of his own so he can begin phase two of his life as a therapist.
Anything will help - our goal is $3800.
