My name is Melissa and I am raising funds for my daughter Morgan to help get my granddaughter Aeda to physical therapy in North Carolina.

Aeda is 13 months old and was diagnosed initially with Infantile Spasms at 4 months old, more recently her diagnosis has been changed to Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. This is an epileptic disorder that causes developmental delay and low muscle tone. Aeda currently has three different types of seizures which has causes significant delays in her development.

We are trying to raise funds to take Aeda to an intensive treatment with a physical therapist in North Carolina. Insurance does not cover this treatment, and all services are out of pocket.

Local Physical Therapists do not do the type of therapy we are seeking, and cannot see her for basic therapy until September.

Morgan is a single mom, and has covered all expenses not covered by insurance out of pocket, herself up until this point. We are trying to fund the intensive therapy, as well as flights and hotel for the weeklong service.

Aeda has had one virtual session and during that one session alone we were able to see what she is capable of. Getting her physically in front of the therapist would make a huge difference in her development and ability to be independently mobile.
