Hi, my name is Maya and I am fundraising for my mom. My mother is the one of the strongest, hardworking, badass woman around. She raised me as a single mom all my life, working day and night to support me. When I decided to live on my own, she finally was able to live her dream of moving to the PNW. I always wanted to go with her, but as a stubborn teenager I stayed.

Since relocating, in the very midst of covid, life has thrown her one curveball after another. Same with many of us, these past couple years have been hard. Harder than they’ve every felt before. It is hard to ask for help and keep things private at the same time, but I know many of us know what it is like to struggle. Right now, my mom is struggling. It is nearly impossible to survive financially as a single person even working overtime. She has tried and worked so hard to keep everything together, but the past few months have been rougher than ever.

I am here asking for anything to help support her into a new living situation, which will hopefully allow her to gain more control of life. Recently my mom has fallen behind on bills and has major problems with her truck. On top of all that, she has had to rely on credit for basic necessities like food and gas.

With any money that anybody is able to give, we are going to move her into a more affordable living situation. We have less than 2 weeks to get packed and moved, and could really use some support for the U-haul. Anything more would go directly towards bills, and trying to repair her truck. With the way life is going, she may even need a new vehicle to be able to get to work.

Since I live in Southern California, there hasn’t been nearly enough that I can do to help her. Even though its difficult, and ultimately embarrassing, one thing I can do for her is ask for help. Any amount, every single dollar would count in helping her take control of her life again. I appreciate anything that anyone is able to contribute, and even just spreading the word would help.
