Our inspiring Gert Needs Inspiration, Prayers and our Financial Support!
Our good friend Gert Garman - who spends her life inspiring, helping and supporting others now needs a little help and support from her friends and family out there. A few months ago Gert was diagnosed with acute peripheral neuropathy in her legs, feet, hands and arms, following some recent back surgery she had. Unfortunately, her condition has progressively worsened and she is currently unable to walk (stand) or use her hands very much. And, the pain from whatever is causing her condition, has recently gone off the charts. Gert has been in and out of the hospital multiple times in the past couple of months. And while we thought she was making progress, the hits just kept on coming. The medical bills are piling up. Gert does have insurance, but on Sunday she made the right decision to go to a different (out of network) hospital in hopes that they can put the pieces together of this bizarre puzzle. Hopefully new doctors with a clean slate and fresh ideas, can try and find out what in the world is going on with her. Currently the immediate need is current hospital bills as well as trying to get her into an acute care facility. The doctors have said that she needs immediate and ongoing physical therapy at a live-in facility for at least two weeks to begin addressing her medical issues (still running tests and getting no real answers). Her doctors fear (as we do) if Gert doesn't get this much needed treatment, she will not be able to walk again. Sadly, her limited insurance will not cover this much needed therapy so we are asking if you would help us help Gert. We had to beg her to let us start this page (if you know Gert, that shouldn't surprise you) but we needed to....she needed to... Gert desperately needs us all at this moment and we are asking for your help, to help her get the treatment she needs so she can continue to be an inspiration to us all!! Thank you so much for considering a small (or large) donation to this fund to help Gert get better. I personally would ask you for prayers for Gert and her family and friends as we try and navigate the healthcare system and its many hurdles. I would ask that God gives us discernment in knowing how to proceed and how to find out what's wrong (yesterday's 2nd MRI in six weeks lasted 3 hours and the doctors said that whatever is happening wasn't another spinal issue) and how to get Gert the help and healing that she needs. The JOY of the Lord is our strength!

This has been an ever changing search for answers from the medical community and it's hard to share what you don't know and/or don't understand. It's also hard to come to the realization that you can't go it alone and that you need help.
