My name is Stephanie and I’m trying to raise money for my boyfriend Gerson’s medical bills. He was in the process of securing medical insurance when he collapsed in pain and was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. His ruptured appendix caused an infection in his blood, which led to some complications after surgery, prolonging his stay in the hospital. We are incredibly grateful that we got Gerson the care he needed in time—the surgeon told us if he’d been even a few moments later to the hospital, we could have lost him. Unfortunately, as Gerson was not insured, the bills are adding up—the hospital stay alone cost tens of thousands of dollars, and we are still receiving multiple additional bills from doctors, tests, and specialists. Even with the hospital agreeing to a discount, Gerson already owes over $20,000, and is still in recovery. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
