Our wonderful and much loved brother, uncle, and friend Gerry Shumway has passed away at home. 

We all remember Gerry's unconditional love for everyone he met. He touched countless lives with his simple faith, warm smile, and loving hugs. To know Uncle Gerry was to be welcomed into his circle of treasured friends. 

After his sister Rosalie passed away, Ben and Miki Irwin took on the reponsability of caring for Gerry, and they have done so faithfully and lovingly, especially as Gerry's health began to decline. We appreciate their sacrifice and love for him.

Uncle Gerry never questioned or worried about going home to Heavenly Father. He knew he would see his mom and dad there, as well as the brothers and sisters who had gone before him. To Gerry, it was a grand adventure for which he was patiently waiting and which he was anxious to embark on. Our hearts ache because we will miss him, but we are certainly not sad for him.
