Gerry’s road to recovery

Hello I am starting this for my dad Gerry McMakin, he is the hardest working man I have ever known. He has always been my rock my one constant in this crazy life.  Since loosing my mom we have grown so much closer he is everything to me and my kids. As some of you know he  just underwent Whipple surgery for pancreatic cancer, following surgery there have been a few complications/setbacks including ICU stay and most currently back in the hospital for a chyle leak and infection.  Although I am grateful my job is protected by FMLA I have had to take it without pay and with the unforeseen complications I have had to miss more work than anticipated. My fathers short term disability will not start until next week at 60% I get paid biweekly my last check was $200 and my next check will be for 4hours. I want and need to be there for my dad and need him not to worry about bills we have no heat our furnace broke so we are using space heaters electric bill is high and overdue, cell phones are to be shut off next week and I owe daycare for both kids. I am an only child and my dad is my everything it was so hard to reach out and ask for help, but I had to do it for him I need him to get better and stress is not good for him he has sacrificed so much for me and my kids I will do anything for him. So please if you are able it will all go towards upcoming and past medical costs as he has a $1000 deductible and bills to keep him comfortable and worry free to get strongand healthy. We are still waiting final results to know whether he will need any chemo and or radiation in the future. If you know my dad he doesn’t like to ask for help and neither do I but under these circumstances I am doing this for him. Thank you all for reading
