Gerard Sison Lataquin Ranches loved life to the fullest. With his wife Diane and son Dylan beside him. The adventures were endless. Gerry was the most kind, loving, and encouraging person one could know. Even in a time of Illness Gerry had a reputation for being the F1 guy that envisioned driving the streets of Italy and loved the Marvel Universe—everyone’s favorite patient.
Gerry spent Thanksgiving celebrating with family and singing karaoke into the early morning. Five days later he suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm.
The following month was a medical rollercoaster. His wife Diane stayed by Gerry’s side every day, while he suffered through several severe strokes, countless infections, and swelling of the brain. This was all caused by a very rare undiagnosed condition called Moya Moya. With so much love and prayers surrounding Gerry, we never gave up hope. On Christmas Eve we received news that the doctors, who fought so hard to save him, were out of options. Completely heartbreaking.
One of the last things Gerry said to Diane was, “You’re my EVERYTHING”… the love they share for each other and their son Dylan is a fine example of how we should cherish our families.
This is a tremendous loss to Gerry’s family, friends, and the entire community. There is a Filipino word for older brother, Kuya. Gerry was and will always be remembered as everyone’s favorite Kuya.
The Ranches and Lataquin families would like to thank everyone that has kept Gerry and his loved ones in your prayers. We also thank the hard-working doctors and nurses at Cherry Hill Swedish for 24hr care and for fighting so hard to help Gerry.
Gerry's final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation
We started this fundraiser to help Diane with the overwhelming medical expenses incurred during Gerry’s month-long Neuro ICU stay.
Thank you and God bless.
