Gerry and Kelly: Recovering from the Camp Fire

Hello -- My name is Ellen Sasaki, and I live in Richmond, California.  I have started this campaign for my long-time friend Gerry Fait and her partner Kelly who lost their house and all their possessions – including 40 years of her artwork -- in the Camp Fire in November. They attempted to evacuate with their animals including three macaws, a horse, a dog, goats, and chickens but their trucks got stuck. They were forced to leave their beloved pets when the fire department came to their rescue, and told them they could not take the animals.

Gerry and Kelly are currently staying with good friends on a tomato farm in Biggs, south of Chico. One macaw has been returned to them. My fundraiser is to help raise the money they need until they can get a more permanent living situation and start re-building their lives.  Donations will be used to buy a car and to start replacing clothing, furniture, and other possessions lost in the fire.  All donations will be deposited directly to Gerry's bank account.

Thank you so much for caring about them.
