Geraldine Banks is a 37 year-old single mother of 2 beautiful and exceptionally smart young daughters. On March, 9th 2016, Geraldine performed a routine self examination of her breast, that evening she located a hard lump in her right breast. I remember receiving a call from her the next day, and although she was calm, telling me she scheduled a doctor's appointment because she found a lump, I could hear that her voice was shaky. I tried my best to reassure her, that it was probably nothing serious. After the call, I prayed to God it wasn't what we all feared. A few days later, I picked up my phone to the sound of deep heart wrenching sobs. It took her several minutes to get the words out and as a mother I knew this type of cry was for her children. Tears started rolling down my face, and I tried with everything in me to steady my voice, because I didn't want her to hear my pain. I said, " It's okay, you found it yourself, so it must be an early stage!" Well, Geraldine was later diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and has started treatment at, HealthPartners Cancer Care Centers-Riverside Clinic, in Minnesota, to ultmately beat this disease into submission, (with God's and modern medicine's help, of course). However, the required treatment takes a toll on the human body, and the side effects can be extreme. Anyone who knows Geraldine, knows her to be a, jovial, thoughtful, sensitive, God-fearing woman, who loves people unconditionally. Geraldine's daughters Zakira and Iyana have been raised with manners and respect, with the same happy positive personalities as their mom. Her role as a mother has always been her top priority and I know, she's worrying more about the welfare of her children than her health during this difficult time. She will not be able to work and continue to provide her children with life necessities. We as a family are asking for donations for help with Geraldine 's medical bills and the bare necessities for her daughters. All donations are welcomed and appreciated! God Bless
