Germaine’s Breast Cancer Fighting Fund

In early October, our cousin, Germaine was diagnosed with breast cancer. Germaine is a loving single mother and grandmother. She is an eternal optimist and self-made woman. She has worked hard for independence and success her whole life, and it is difficult for her to ask others for help. However,  even she knows that in times like these, there are many people near and far who may want to lend support and this platform enables them to help out in a small way. 

Germaine's first step in her fight against this insidious disease was to have a double mastectomy. Her surgery took place on the morning of November 26th and required her to stay in the hospital through the Thanksgiving holiday. She is now home recovering and preparing herself for the next stage in her fight which will include chemotherapy and radiation at the beginning of the new year.

She has a very long road ahead of her and will be in need of not only prayers and positive thoughts, but financial assistance.  She is the bread winner of the family and her job will not cover long term disability.  Every day she misses from work will cost her significantly, but unfortunately there will be no way around that.    Fortunately, she has very good medical coverage, but the loss of wages will cause a huge strain. Any assistance granted is greatly appreciated and will go towards her rent, food, car payment and other living expenses.
