Gericault's Housing Fund

Hi everyone!

My name is Gericault De La Rose and I am a queer, trans, Filipinx artist and educator. I recently was offered admission to UC Berkeley MFA program and although I was excited to accept their offer of admission, I'm also overwhelmed with the costs of living in the Bay Area.

The Covid-19 Pandemic has affected everyone's lives drastically and I am no exception. I had to leave my service industry job because I currently live with an immunocompromised roommate. Furthermore, my father disowned me 2 years ago after coming out as trans and I've struggled with finances ever since.

However, even though I felt like I was breaking apart, Chicago's queer community held me gently together. I am where I am now because of the love and support from my chosen family.

I really do not have any access to a financial safety net so I'm asking for anything you can give. The funds raised would go towards securing housing, rent, moving, and other living expenses. I would also greatly appreciate it if you can share this campaign to your social media networks.
