Gered Acker~Determination of Giants

Donation protected
While camping with his 4 kids & wife on Saturday morning June 2nd, 2018 Gered suffered a sever stroke at the age of 38 years old. After being misdiagnosed as vertigo and sent home from the ER to several days later he was still unable to see, walk, talk or even lift a hand he was taken back into the Dr it was than determined he had experienced a stroke and it was getting worse and was airlifted to The Stroke Center at Regions Hospital in St Paul, MN. Gered has been transferred to the Rehabilitation Center at Region's Hospital for an unknown amount of time. He will need to re- learn to walk, eat, bath, write and all daily functions and the small things we all take for granted every day. The part of his brain that has been damaged in the stroke is the part that communicates with your body and tells it how to do every movement and control the movements of your body. Gered is experiencing double vision and the inability to control his eyes in turn which impacts his ability to balance himself and stabilize his hands and body. In this process Andrea and the 4 kids (Bennett 16, Mya 13, Macy 11 & Justus 5) need to be close to him and spend as much time with him as possible. The kids need their dad and Andrea needs her husband as much as he needs all of them. They are over 2 hours away from home so the added expenses will come for as long as they are away from home. Gered has been and is the sole provider for his family and loves being that, but this unfortunate situation facing the family will fully impact the ability for Gered to return to work for quit some time. Gered's faith in God and his love for his family is what is getting him through. He believes this has happened for a reason and believes that God has chosen his path and will see him through this journey. Gered continues to say that he will be a better person after going through this life changing situation. Prayers are coveted and asked that God would hold Gered in the palm of his hands as the entire family walks through this uphill journey! God and time are great healers! Your love and support mean the world to Gered and the family as they are all forever grateful to every single person who's said a prayer or sent wishes and who continues to care. Thank you is not enough, but they continues to say it over and over. Love to all,  The Acker's
