It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband Gerardo Skinfield. On Saturday morning, our mother lost her husband and we lost our father, while he was out doing what he loved, riding his Harley.
Our father was an incredible man. Completely and totally dedicated to his wife and children, including his foster daughter Nicky. Our father made sure everyday, that everyone in his family knew they were loved. He made the effort to tell us, including our foster sister who to this day calls him Papa. Our father set an example for all of us, family is number 1. He showed us by example that we must work hard.
We hope that our father touched all of you in the same way. He was a fiercely dedicated friend, brother, uncle, father and husband. He made sure that you knew he cared.
Our father was a dedicated union man. The love for the brotherhood of his union, UBC Local 547 was not lost on us, both of his sons, Randall and Gerald are also UBC Local 547 members. In fact, Our father was on his way to an OSHA safety class when this accident happened. On his way to upgrade his position in the Union in order to be able to better provide for his family.
Anyone that knew our father, knew that he loved his motorcycle, that he loved to be out riding. His love of motorcycles, was passed on to all of his children and his Wife. Lucia could often be found on the back of his bike as he motored down the road.
Our father was a special man, he left happiness and kindness with everyone he touched. We miss him dearly and will always miss him.
Our hearts are heavy, as we come to you, our community for help. This is something very difficult for us to do, but we know that we need to help our mom. There are so many expenses that we were not anticipating and some that haven't hit us yet. We are asking you for any help. If you can give, thank you, any amount means the world to us. If you cannot give, please share this out. Much love to everyone, thank you for caring for us in this time of need.
Thank you so much,
Lucia, Margaret, Gerald, Randall.
