Hello to all who are reading this plea!

With hopeful hearts we are choosing to share Gerry's story with you so that we as his community of love and support can provide care for our beloved friend, colleague, neighbor, and devoted church member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hollywood.

Gerry has diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma in June of 2022. He had surgery that same month, went through rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. All seemed well, so he started working again at a music label with enormous promise, which gave him endless joy and delight. Gerry's passion for music and marketing are unmatched and his genius shines through undoubtedly. His contributions to the Latin music world have left an indelible imprint in the US and throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

That stint of productive work would be stymied in April of 2023 when we was intervened surgically again to remove a tumor that was found in the same brain region. He recovered rather quickly from the second surgery, but in early June he suffered the devastating and unexpected loss of his partner of 20+ years, Chris. This blow seemed to send Gerry into an irreversible downward spiral.

So now, our beloved Gerry is at the end stage of his battle with glioblastoma, a most unforgiving cancer that grows exponentially every day it's untreated. He was told a month ago by his medical team that tumors had spread and were in multiple regions of the brain. Surgical procedures were ruled out. Chemotherapy and clinical trials would not help him due to the nature of his condition. Gerry accepted his fate and given that this disease is so aggressive his health has deteriorated at warp speed.

Without income and still recovering financially after his partner’s unexpected death, he needs our help to get the care he deserves. With your generosity we would be able to resolve open financial obligations as well as find a facility that can look after him 24/7 with the quality and attention that Gerry very much deserves. Any support you can lend is appreciated.

Gerry was always faithful and loving towards his friends and community, with relationships deep and long-standing. Let’s give back what he gave each of us so copiously over the years.
