A loving father. A big brother. A great friend and son. Gerald Butler passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 19th while playing basketball. Gerald was an outgoing, joyous young man who always strived to be the center of attention. Although short in stature, Gerald stood tall among his peers. At the core, he was a family man, who loved to watch sports, eat good meals, and hang out with his siblings.

Gerald was a Woodlawn High graduate in the class of 2011 and attended Baton Rouge Community College. He was well-known among his friends for his athletic ability and happy-go-lucky personality. He will be missed by his mother Nicole Butler, father Gerald Alexander, his siblings Nicholas, Aliyaha, Gercobi, Darius, Gerald, and Germinney, his son Jaylen, his nephew Kaiden, and his girlfriend, Champagne Wilson.
