Gerald Vreman Needs Your Help

This GoFundMe has been initiated to ask for assistance for Gerald Vreman, consummate pianist and organist.

Here is what has happened. Gerald was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in early June. He was airlifted to the trauma unit at Victoria Hospital in London with life-threatening injuries. He has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. He is now off life-support measures and awake but is looking at a lengthy and difficult recovery both physically and cognitively.

Let’s get the music back by keeping Gerald whole, by meeting his basic needs. This will help him focus on his recovery and his return to his teaching, his concerts, his roles as an accompanist of the Fanshawe Chorus and as Music Director at Central United Church in St. Thomas.

Those who know Gerald know that he is so generous with his time and would always be there to lend a helping hand or just listen. He has touched so many people’s lives, been a mentor to many and helped many students and friends overcome challenges in their lives. As a piano teacher, a coach, and a performer he nurtured a vibrant musical community.

So, it is an easy question to answer why we care and why we hope and believe that the musical community and others will step up to help this wonderful man during a difficult time in his life.

As Gerald progresses through cognitive rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and other therapies, he will have virtually no income. The cost of treatments is an unknown at this time but there are mortgage payments, utilities, bills, and extenuating costs that need to be covered. Until such time as Gerald can resume his musical activities, your donations are invaluable.
