Gerald Pools Medical and Living Expenses

Gerald and Linda Pool have been married since 2001 and together have 8 beautiful children and 21 grandchildren.

On July 23th, Gerald was rushed by ambulance to the hospital after having a seizure. He found out that he had COVID pneumonia and was barely getting any oxygen. He basically didn’t have any symptoms before this. He has been in the hospital over 9 weeks now and in the ICU for 75 days. He is on dialysis as his kidneys shut down because of the drugs they had to give him to keep him alive. He also got a tracheostomy. He is breathing better on his own although his lungs are very damaged. He is starting to recuperate  The doctors say he will need a year or more of rehab in order to learn how to swallow, talk, walk and use his muscles again.  

It’s been really overwhelming because Linda had recently been through two major medical traumas of her own. There are household bills and hospital bills to pay with no income except for Linda’s SS check that barely covers the house payment.

Gerald loves helping Linda with her projects and the garden at their home. Gerald loves the outdoors. Just being outside, hiking with the family and the grandkids, picking huckleberries and mushrooms and exploring new places makes him happy. He loves writing songs and playing his guitar and telling funny stories about his life. He loves helping others and has always been generous with his time and resources.
