Hello, We are the stepson, stepdaughter and family of Gerald Fruehwirth.
Gerald Fruehwirth lived life with colour, humour, and curiosity. He loved jazz, art
and culture, good food, and a well-poured drink — and he had a special “je ne sais
quoi” that made people smile. He was creative and expressive, a natural
storyteller, and the kind of person who could turn an ordinary moment into a
memorable one.
Gerald also cared about people. He was a dedicated hockey coach, had a soft spot
for kids who needed support, and he became a meaningful father-figure in the
family he joined. He shared a deep bond with his loyal companion Tinkle, his
beloved Toy Fox Terrier, who brought him constant companionship and joy.
Gerald enjoyed a robust life, travelling around and experiencing different places and
opportunities. He spent time travelling with the Canadian band Rush and photographing
them as they performed all over. Gerald's photographs told a story that captures you
and shows you the moment frozen in time.
Gerald passed away in Toronto in January 2026. This memorial fund is being
created to help with final expenses, paperwork, and necessary arrangements. If
you’re able, please consider donating (or sharing this page). Every contribution
and message means a great deal. Thank you for your support.
