Hello, I am Gerald's daughter Caroline. In the past year he has been suffering from multiple problems leading to his constant visits and stays in the hospital.

On a day after his 65th birthday while he was staying in a aftercare nursing facility, his foot became numb. This was from a possible blood clot his suffered. He was then transported to Sierra Vista, his Liver was failing and killing his Kidneys. He made the decision to be transported to UCLA to try to get a liver transplant to extend his life.

Upon arrival he suffered a major stroke. The doctors believe the blood clot from the leg hd moved into his frontal lobe in his brain. The clot was stuck too far into his brain where they could not retrieve it. He was then left on life support.

This morning, Saturday December 2nd, the doctor called to update me he now has an infection. As his wishes were not to be left on life support, we followed through with his wishes of being taken off. Which, he will be soon passing on.

I was left with the tasks of deciding when he passes how to take care of him. He only left with a few assets to his name. I am starting this gofundme to help raise money to help cover costs of his cremation and other estate expenses.
