Hi everyone,

Our friend Gaz (Geraint Liddon) has been through more than anyone should ever have to face.

A few months ago, what started as a simple walk along the beach with his dogs ended with him feeling unwell. After going to hospital, he received the devastating news that nobody ever wants to hear – he had cancer.

True to the man we all know and love, Gaz faced his diagnosis with incredible courage. His love for his wife Kirsty, his two beautiful daughters, his family and his friends gave him the strength to fight every step of the way.

As the weeks and months passed, the battle became tougher. Specialists at Birmingham Hospital offered him hope by carrying out a life-saving operation to remove an almost 3-stone tumour. It was an enormous operation, but Gaz never let it define him.

Rather than feeling sorry for himself, he challenged himself to walk every single day for a month, increasing the distance each day to raise money for a charity close to his heart, Macmillan Cancer Support. His determination inspired so many people, and he raised an incredible £4,000. He was also able to enjoy a well-earned holiday with Kirsty, where he continued his daily walks and, most importantly, made precious memories with his family.

As time went on, Gaz adapted to life with his “new mate” – his stoma bag. He embraced every day as a blessing and looked forward to the future.

Sadly, a few weeks ago, Gaz began to feel unwell again. Routine blood tests confirmed the heartbreaking news that the cancer had returned. This time it was far more aggressive.

Even then, Gaz’s thoughts weren’t about himself. Unable to attend concerts he had planned, he sold his tickets and donated the money to another charity close to his heart, 4Dewi Mental Health.

Today, Gaz is spending his final days at the Bwthyn, surrounded by the people who love him most. His incredible wife, Kirsty, and their two daughters are by his side, showing the same strength, love and courage that Gaz has shown throughout his journey.

If you are able to donate, no matter how much or how little, it would mean the world. Every penny will help support Kirsty and the girls through the incredibly difficult days and months ahead.

Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Gaz, even for just a few minutes, will know what an amazing person he is. His sense of humour, quick wit, kindness and infectious personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He’s not just my friend—he’s our friend. Let’s show him and his family just how much they’re loved.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
