The Geornia Kids Foundation is currently caring for 11 teenage girls in its orphanage in Uganda, each of whom is facing significant challenges that extend beyond basic shelter and education. One of the most urgent and overlooked needs is access to feminine hygiene products. In Uganda, these essentials are often prohibitively expensive or simply unavailable, leaving many girls without the means to manage their periods safely, hygienically, and with dignity.
For teenage girls, this lack of access can have a profound impact. It affects their ability to attend school consistently, participate in daily activities, and maintain their confidence during an already sensitive stage of life. No young person should have to miss out on education or feel ashamed because of something as natural as menstruation.
We are seeking to raise £500 to provide these girls with a sustainable and practical solution: reusable period pants. These specially designed garments eliminate the need for disposable pads, offering a washable, long-lasting alternative that can be used repeatedly. They are discreet, comfortable, and designed to give the girls freedom from the monthly stress of sourcing disposable products.
This relatively small amount will make a meaningful and immediate difference to all 11 girls, helping to restore dignity, improve school attendance, and reduce ongoing financial pressure on the orphanage.
Your support will directly contribute to improving the health, wellbeing, and confidence of these young women. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to ensuring they have access to something so essential that many of us take for granted.
Thank you for helping the Geornia Kids Foundation support these girls with dignity and care.
