Georgina’s Meningioma tumor journey.

Donation protected
In October of 2019 Georgina age 38 was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. For the past couple of years she was suffering with these attacks that she just thought were panic attacks. She also hasn’t been the George we know this past year and has said to friends on quite a few occasions “this isn’t me” and seemed confused on what and why her life was being affected. On November 25th 2022 she had an appointment with a neurologist who suspected she had epilepsy known as focal seizures with awareness, she had an MRI scan on the 16th December and had an appointment on the 22nd December to be told she had meningioma, benign brain tumour, which could be the reason towards these epilepsy attacks. The tumour is 4.5cm, on the top left hand side of her brain, starting to grow on the right hand side, on top of a vein. She was put on medication straight away and was told the only way to get rid of this was through surgery. The medication has made Georgina weak and had affected her speech which she was warned about, all she does most days and nights is sleep. She can remember her friends and family but can’t remember conversations. She says she feels like living in a dream world, she is very aware of her surroundings, what people are saying there and then and then forgets some of the conversations she has had. Georgina’s surgery is to take place on the 25th January but she is going into hospital 24 hours before. After the operation Georgina may need speech therapy and also physio therapy as we do not know how this will affect her or how long the recovery process will take. Meningioma is quite common, anyone can catch it at any age but it is more common to catch it in the older generation. As you can only imagine Georgina’s parents, brother, brothers wife, god mum, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends are worried about her but we are all there being strong and supporting them all through this challenging time.

Any donations that have been made, will help Georgina getting her life back.

Thankyou for you’re time in reading this, we’re all very worried, any updates will be placed and we will update you on her journey.
