Surgery Fund for Georgie the Bookstore Cat

A former stray, we adopted Georgie from a local shelter in August of 2021 and he quickly became the boss of the store and the unofficial mayor of Main Street in Cold Spring. We are putty in his hands and could not love and worship him more (even when he walks all over the keyboard). He’s an older cat and just at the moment when store owner Heidi Bender is recovering from brain surgery to remove a tumor, Georgie also began to show signs of illness. We got his ultrasound results yesterday which show a tumor on his spleen and he is getting surgery immediately to give him the best chance of a continued happy life. It’s been a rough few weeks at Split Rock! What helps most of all is your continued patronage of the store but since his bills have hit the $4000 mark and the estimate is now up to $6000, we are adding this fundraising option for anyone who would prefer to donate directly.
