Nick and Carol's three-month-old baby girl, Georgia, has recently had to undergo medical procedures and is still fighting to become healthy again.
Georgia was admitted to the hospital a week ago (March 22) when she started having stomach troubles. Once admitted, doctors determined she would require surgery to fix an intestinal blockage. During the surgery, the doctors found a defect in her intestines and were able to fix it. Georgia appeared to be recovering well after the surgery and was allowed to go home a few days later (Sunday).
On Monday, March 27, Georgia had to be readmitted to the hospital and required another surgery to fix a leak. As a result of the leak, she has become septic. She is currently in the ICU fighting to become a healthy baby girl again. It is unknown how long she will need to be in the ICU, but the doctors believe she will remain in the hospital for an extended period of time even after released from the ICU.
Carol recently returned to work from maternity leave and has been at the hospital with Georgia during the whole process. Nick has used paid leave when Georgia was born to be with her and Carol. He has been able to be at the hospital with Carol and Georgia since flying down last Thursday. They both are missing work and will continue to miss work as their baby's health is their priority. Though they do have insurance, it will not cover all the costs incurred during this process.
Please help support them during this time and lift some of the additional burden of financial worry so their focus can remain on getting their baby girl healthy again.
Every donation is helpful and greatly appreciated. If you're unable to donate, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
