Georgia Mae's Beat Cancer Fund
Donation protected
We recently received some bad news when we brought Georgia to the vet the other day. We found out she has a mast cell tumor on her front leg and will have to have her leg amputated.
This poor girl has been though so much. She was brought into the shelter severely neglected, was most likely used as a breeding dog , has horribly cropped ears, calluses from living her whole life outdoors, and severe arthritis in both her back knees. She's already had 2 mast cell tumors removed from her body. While normally vets can remove just the tumor, in this case they had to use wide margins around the tumors to make sure they got them all. Unfortunately they can't do the same when it's on a limb. So the vets told us the best course of action would be to remove the leg.
She will need an ultrasound and X-rays to see if the cancer has spread, amputation surgery, and after care. We wanted to reach out to our friends, family, and anyone who could offer a bit of help. We know everyone has their own lives and situations they're dealing with. If you can help us, even a little bit ($5) we (and Georgia) would be forever grateful.
Georgia Mae didn't have the best past, but we hope to give her the chance to have an amazing future, know love, and be treated like the princess she is.
**Will update with vet invoices as we get them. And if you feel more comfortable donating directly to the vet, I can give you their contact information.
