"After meeting the initial goal(s); the target has been increased to $40,000.00 to fund the development of a novel, small private practice that will provide focused, compassionate, and whole-person direct-patient-care to all patients utilizing a versatile virtual medium of exchange, and cost-effectively."
Hello, I am seeking monetary help from any family members and your gracious friends or contacts and others who might be willing to help me out of a rut. I will be very thankful.
It will give me a chance to continue on my path of providing high quality healthcare to those who need it the most, the poor and underserved. And put me in a better position to provide for my children.
I recently won primary custody of my youngest children, and would like to give them the best future that they deserve, against the odds that our children face.
In 2005, I received the State Medical Education Board of Georgia (SMEB), "Country Doctor Scholarship," while a student at Meharry Medical College. It totalled $40,000 dollars. To date, I have served greater than 630-days providing healthcare in rural Georgia counties with less than 35,000 people.
I served greater than 118-days providing home health assessments in hard to reach and isolated locations; usually for elderly patients.
However, because home health assessments, including a complete physical examination, medication review and update of assessment and plan including occasional communication with the patient's primary physician were not technically considered "direct-patient-care," or"care;" then these days of providing healthcare were not approved by their SMEB Board.
The Board initially requested a repayment amount of $19,397.26, which they reduced to $6,465.76 And which is due by July 15, 2019. The current fundraising goal is adjusted based off an approximately 3% Gofundme service charge. I received the settlement contract June 26, 2019.
I am currently working as a Volunteer Physician with the Georgia Department of Public Health, at the Samaritan Clinic, in Albany, Georgia. And as a locum tenens provider. In time, and when financially able, I hope to start a geriatric medicine private practice where I will focus on providing healthcare for the elderly, and disabled.
Please make your donations directly through Gofundme.
The initial fundraising goal was met, and the complete payment was delivered via certified funds to the Georgia Board for Physician Workforce, via their attorney Mr. Tum Suden. Thank you for your support!
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Samuel K. Williams, III, MD, CPG
