Georgia and Mollie's fundraiser for CRUK and Parkinson's UK

Hi!

We're Georgia and Mollie, over the next year we are going to be taking part in many running events finishing in June next year with a 70 mile ultra. This will push our boundaries having both taken up running in recent years.

Georgia completed her first marathon distance at London this year and Mollie completed her first half marathon in Exeter. For this challenge we have signed up to:

Therefore the next year will be a huge challenge for both of us but one we are excited for as we are doing it to raise money for Parkinson's UK and Cancer Research UK. We have chosen to fundraise for both these charities as they are close to our heart. Currently any money raised will go into a shared pot but all money raised by July next year will be 50/50 split between the two charities.

Mollie's Grandad was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015 after his niece noticed a change in his posture and told him to get it checked out. He has approached his diagnosis with incredible bravery, always focusing on what he can do rather than what he can't. Her Grandma is now his main carer and they both live with the impact of his Parkinson's everyday. They are an inspiration and she is incredibly proud of both of them. We want to raise funds for Parkinson's UK so that hopefully one day, no one has to suffer from this debilitating disease. Parkinson's UK are currently improving live's of people living with Parkinson's and the people around them as well as funding research into the most promising treatments as there is currently no cure available.

We both have people close to us who have been affected by cancer and have seen how this can impact those affected and the people around them. We are fundraising for Cancer Research UK for those we know who have been affected by cancer, in memory of people we have lost and in hope we can make a difference to people whose lives are touched by cancer. Cancer Research UK are dedicated to saving and improving lives through research into the prevention, detection and treatment of over 200 cancer types.

Anyone can be affected by these diseases and we hope that by fundraising over the next year we can raise crucial funds to help make a difference. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
