George Wu will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, Scoutmaster, Sierra Club instructor, friend and outdoor enthusiast. He was the Boy Scouts of America Troop 37 Scoutmaster from Newport Beach CA. He was also actively involved with the Sierra Club and even taught classes along with participating in many Sierra Club lead adventures. He was involved in a climbing accident near Tahquitz Rock in Idyllwild on July 7th 2017. George made an impact on so many people including the young scouts in Troop 37.
Doing a good turn daily was how George lived his life. He always made himself available to others including family, friends, scouts, parents, and colleagues. He spent his time teaching boys in Troop 37 skills they will carry into adulthood and mentored so many others through Eagle Scout projects, ranks and merit badge requirements. He will be deeply missed by many of us who knew George and his adventurous spirit.
