I am suffering from Chronic Liver Disease and currently being treated by the VA. I am being screened to get a new liver somewhere in November or December if my health allows.
I am caring for my son, Alex, who is 15. It is him and I alone. I am unable to work and had my driving privilages taken away due to the medication that I am taking. It is hard to get around and or work and what the VA gives me at this time is not sufficent. I am behind in my utility payments, etc. and recently had to borrow to getting turned on again. I am very embarassed to have to ask for help but will accept any help I can to make sure my son has what he needs while I go through this. If I am chosen for the transplant it will be done in Pittsburgh where the VA has a trasplant unit and recovery is indefinite depending on the surgery.
