Georgette (Bernard) Thom

My beautiful, amazing mother Georgette's heart started declining in 2019 after the commencement of my acrimonious divorce and long legal battle for my son and I to be reunited with her and the rest of our large, loving family. After she got off the plane from her second 2019 trip to Toronto, she ended up in the ER due to heart issues. I have been trying to move my son, Xander - the grandson she adored more than anything, home to Saint John where he has a huge, loving support system and life of abundance.

Xander and I have been kept away from Saint John for 5 years, and even after Georgette had a heart attack and was scheduled for open-heart surgery, permission for Xander and I to visit her for just two weeks was very difficult to obtain... Her surgery was successful, but immediately after, she died very unexpectedly after a cardiac arrest.

Georgette's heart attack came less than two months after we all received devastating news preventing Xander and I from moving home. Her family members all say "she died of a broken heart". She had endured far too much stress, worry, and disappointment in recent years due to her grandson's situation. She and my father spent their life savings on my never-ending legal fees to get Xander and I home - which is why I've created this GoFundMe in her honor.
