Hi, We are the Georgetown Ski Team and we just qualified for the USCSA National Championships in Lake Placid, NY from March 4th - 9th! Georgetown Ski Team was founded in 2019, and first competed during the 2019-2020 season. Due to Covid-19, the team was not able to compete again until the 2022-2023 season. Qualifying for a National Championship during the second year of the renewed Georgetown Ski Team is an incredible accomplishment!
This season, the Women's alpine team placed first in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship last weekend, solidifying their berth to Nationals. The Georgetown Ski Team has had an incredible season, defeating competitive and long-standing teams including Duke University, University of Virginia, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and the United States Military Academy, among others. The Men’s alpine team, despite losing key members due to injury, managed to finish in fifth place and qualify for nationals. The Men’s team also beat every team in their conference at Regionals and took down teams that have been racing successfully for decades.
The National Championship is an opportunity for Georgetown University to make a name for themselves within the collegiate skiing world and reflect a positive image of the university.
We are fundraising to support our athletes at the National Championship this upcoming week! The funds raised will be used to register, house, and provide transportation for our athletes!
